Mobile connectivity is increasingly important in the daily lives of citizens, both on the road and in heavily frequented areas.

That is why the BIPT measures the performance of mobile networks using various practical indicators for:

  • Voice services: we measure whether calls are established smoothly, how quickly they are established and whether they are established without interruption and with good sound quality.
  • Data services: we measure the speed, reliability, and user experience when consuming mobile data (e.g. downloading and uploading files, browsing the web, streaming video, and messaging).

By making this information available to the public, the BIPT aims to provide transparency to consumers and policy makers and to contribute to a continuous improvement of the mobile networks in Belgium.
