At the end of 2011 an auction took place regarding the 2.6 GHz band. As a result 155 MHz have been successfully auctioned, good for 77,790,000 EUR of proceeds in total. Four operators (Belgacom NV at the time, BUCD bvba, KPN group Belgium and Mobistar) have been granted user rights.
At the moment there is still a free band of 15 MHz duplex (2520-2535/2640-2655MHz). The BIPT decided to put this band up for auction on the market.
