The Belgian telecom watchdog, BIPT, will no longer regulate the national fixed telephony services for either residential users or companies.
Indeed, after analysis BIPT has decided to lift the price control and transparency obligations imposed on Belgacom at the retail level, because Belgacom is increasingly facing competition.
In a majority of European countries it had already been decided to deregulate the retail prices of fixed telephony.
