This decision of the CRC concerns the analysis of the television broadcasting market in the bilingual Brussels-Capital Region. It concludes that cable-operators Numericable, Brutélé and Telenet have significant market power and imposes a series of obligations on them, in particular the obligation to open their networks to competing operators.
Identical decisions were taken simultaneously by the CRC regarding the Dutch-speaking Region, the French-speaking Region and the German-speaking Region.
Several appeals were lodged against these decisions. The Brussels Court of Appeal rejected them all. The appeals in cassation lodged by Coditel, AIESH and Telenet were rejected.
