The CRC decision of 29 June 2018 on the analysis of the broadband and television broadcasting markets recalls that: "For broadband (30 Mbps), Belgium has a coverage rate estimated at 95.5% of households and, for very high speed (100 Mbps), the coverage rate is estimated at 92.5% of households".
This does not meet the objectives set by the European Digital Agenda, which requires that that, by 2020, all citizens of the European Union have access to a download rate of 30 Mbps.
Operators should therefore be encouraged to invest for this purpose. The preliminary draft order put out for consultation aims to give operators a financial incentive to do so.
