Today BIPT publishes a communication on a study regarding the terms for allocation and use of the 800 MHz band, carried out by an independent external consultant (Athea Consulting Limited and NERA Economic Consulting) and at the same time launches a consultation commissioned by Minister Vande Lanotte on a bill amending the Electronic Communications Act and a draft royal decree as regards the terms for allocation and use of this frequency band.

The Brussels Court of Appeal decided on 6 November 2012 to reject the request for a suspension from Brutélé/Tecteo (otherwise called VOO) and Numéricable against opening up the cable. Indeed, the obligations do not cause any serious and hard to restore disadvantage to those operators. On 4 September 2012 the Court of Appeal had already rejected the same request for a suspension from Telenet.
