At the end of 2013, BIPT launched an inspection campaign among a number of telecom operators regarding compliance with important consumer protection rules in the general terms and conditions of sale and other contractual documents.

The check focused on what the operators stipulate in these terms and conditions with regard to cancellation options, access to emergency services, compensation in the event of poor service and interest on arrears.

Not all operators turned out to be in order. In this case, BIPT drew the operators' attention to the shortcomings in their general conditions in detail and sought solutions together with the operators. The operators were then able to make the necessary adaptations under BIPT's guidance.
