Today, BIPT submits for consultation a draft decision that aims to lower voice call termination rates on mobile networks to a rate of 1.07 €cent/min by January 1, 2013.
BIPT's draft decision also aims to end tariff asymmetry between the 3 mobile operators active in Belgium.
This proposal, inspired by the European recommendations to further stimulate the internal market, should lead to a sharp decrease in retail prices, to the benefit of Belgian consumers, and should promote healthy competition between fixed and mobile operators regarding the offer of convergent products.
