Brussels, 17 December 2019 - BIPT has published today a decision regarding the wholesale high-quality access market.
High-quality services differ from “standard” broadband services by characteristics such as dedicated connections, symmetrical speeds or very limited packet loss. This concerns for instance the connections between several sites of one company. Proximus provides these services over its own copper and fibre network, either directly to professional customers, or to competitive operators who then provide these services to companies.
BIPT confirms that Proximus still occupies a dominant position on this market. Several measures have been imposed upon Proximus to foster competition, so that companies can derive benefits in terms of choice, price and quality.
BIPT continues to regulate high-quality connectivity
