Information for platform users

Trusted flaggers are recognised organisations; their reports regarding illegal content must be handled with priority by online platforms.

These reports are handled with priority as their authors are specialised in the detection, identification and notification of illegal content and have been qualified as trusted flaggers by the BIPT, CSA, VRM and/or Medienrat.

Here are a few examples of entities eligible for trusted flagger status:

  • Public authorities
  • NGOs
  • Qualified professional organisations
  • Sector organisations.

⚠️ Please note: this status is not available to individuals, but as an individual user of platforms, you can report content using the usual means of reporting on the platform you are using. If that platform does not respond or propose any reporting means for instance, you may lodge a complaint with the BIPT.
